Environmental Education Fundamentals

Course Description

This course is designed to provide educators with the background knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement learning experiences in the best practices of environmental education. Are you seeking background knowledge and skills in Environmental Education (EE) best practices? Are you a supervisor looking for staff training opportunities? In this course, you'll investigate:

  • the history, definition and purpose of EE
  • investigate examples and ideas for EE learning environments that are thoughtfully designed, safe, and aligned with best practices in the field
  • tips on how to create inclusive EE programs
  • how to select, adapt, and/or develop effective educational materials
  • how to select and implement appropriate EE instructional strategies

 

Learning Objectives

  1. Accurately explain environmental education principles.
  2. Identify key elements of a safe and effective learning environment.
