Course Description

Are you seeking background knowledge and skills to improve human and community wellness through environmental education? The Nature & Human Wellness eeCourse is designed to provide educators with a foundation of the knowledge, theories, and interdisciplinary research on the important link between nature and human wellness.  Through this online self-paced course, learn strategies and advocacy tools created to empower you to leverage nature’s positive impact on learning and wellness, and to drive positive changes in education policies and practices.

 

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the scientific evidence and theoretical foundations connecting nature exposure with human health, well-being, learning, and child development.
  2. Identify, evaluate, and apply nature-based strategies that support learning, health, and development across educational and community contexts.
  3. Communicate the value of nature access using evidence-based language and advocate for nature-supportive practices, programs, and policies.

The target learner for this course is students, formal educators, non-formal educators, home educators, and lifelong learners.
