Leading After School

Course Description

Professional learning for program leaders and site directors who supervise staff and sometimes work directly with youth in an afterschool or out-ofschool time program. Grow your leadership skills, be more prepared to supervise and train staff and volunteers, develop and implement a training plan.

  1. Reflect on the leadership, problem-solving and communication skills required in your position.
  2. Learn more about what makes professional development effective for staff in afterschool programs.
  3. Develop and implement a plan for incorporating hands-on professional development into your program.
  4. Learn research-based teaching skills for out-of-school time.
  5. Be prepared to empower your team to learn, grow and build new skills so they can provide better experiences for the children in your program.
